In 1982, engineer Vagaggini, our founder, became the head of the engineering department and a founding partner of Lario Energy: an experience of almost 10 years that led him to work with dozens of Italian and European plants, and to be in close contact with the major manufacturers in the market.

In 1991, he founded AV ENGINEERING, a company that carried forward his initial vision, expanding its expertise to the Middle East with paper groups such as Mepco, Bulleh Shah Packages, and Century, while also being the main reference point for the Steam & Condensate systems of the entire Burgo group.

In 2000, he created a joint venture with the former Johnson Corporation, establishing by scratch the only technical office of the group bringing to the table 100% project equipment, employees, know-how, and customer portfolio – this would later give birth to the current current Kadant Johnson.

In 2006, two partners separated from AV ENGINEERING, using all the projects and know-how acquired over the years to founded TIP 95, which still operates in the paper market today.

In the meantime, more than 120 Steam & Condensate systems were successfully developed and built by Mr. Vagaggini, many of which turnkey: these experiences laid the foundation of who we are today.

In 2012 the story of SAM Progetti begins, a company with a unique vision in the market: paper needs first – to reject the dogmatic nature of the paper industry’s engineering theory and bring to the customer a project philosophy based on the deep knowledge of thermodynamics.
