NEW - AIR FILTER UNIT HEAVY DUTY SELF CLEANING

The ventilation systems increases the overhaul efficiency of the machine, reducing consumes and improving the product’s quality. This type of equipment generates thermo-dynamic effects such as drying and vacuum (Bernoulli Effect), stabilizing the sheet and improving the paper’s quality.

If we were to make an analogy with the human body, the ventilation system would be like the lungs of the machine, constantly breathing fresh air.
Nowadays, every paper machine needs a proper ventilation system to achieve optimal performances (WEBSTAB, WEBTRANSFER, PV, etc.). Thanks to our field experience throughout years and years of building and modifying plants, we are confident in sharing with you the two main elements that this type of fundamental equipment fears the most:

Absence of circulating air’s performances, which generates fake results and might cause some issues production wise (low pressure/flow/temperature).

Dust, which eventually obstructs all of the jets and the air paths, nullifying the equipment’s effect completely (Although we would like to point out that the first is often caused by the presence of dust as well.)

In a ventilation system, the external (or internal) air is sent at high pressure in a circuit that performs a thermodynamic process; generally the air is heated from the heat exchangers of the PV.

This is a key feature for the machine and for the condensate plant’s energy recovery system. The presence of dust soils the batteries, drastically decreasing the airflow and the PV effect, consequentially decreasing the energetic recover and increasing the steam system’s specific consumptions.

How the paper’s industry did fixed this enormous problem? Simply enough just putting a filter on the aspiration. The real question although is: did just putting a filter really fixed the problem? We would like to answer to that and make our point about it.

The paper’s production environment is an industrial one, hence is extremely hot, noisy but most of all dirty. Imagine a static filter that has to work constantly with those conditions, continuously sucking air and blocking enormous amounts of dust present in the environment.

It goes by itself that replacing the cleaning units (or sometimes even cleaning them) is a procedure that has to be performed quite often to keep the airflow at a barely acceptable level. It is also known that these cleaning procedures are quite tedious, health dangerous, time-consuming and expensive. When the filter is not working correctly, the heat exchangers are soiled and their cleaning procedures might end up in damaging irreversibly the exchangers’ fins. Moreover, the discarded filterer’s unit they produce have to be treated as a special waste. In addition, even if all of these procedures are performed, the dust manages to get inside the ventilation system either way.

Therefore, what are we currently looking at is the following situation: a ventilation system that is never at his optimal capacity (if not for just a few hours), that never uses clean air, that has tremendous costs of maintenance and has to be continuously stopped and cleaned.

A bad filtering system reduces form 3% to 5% the production of a machine, and increases the specific steam consumption, sometimes up to 10%. It might also cause a bad cross-humidity profile, losing even up to 2 sigma.

Sam Progetti wants to give you a different way of fixing the problem, a true answer to the question. We would like to show you our latest answer to paper industry’s issues: the AV-900

The AV-900 is a heavy-duty filter for environments with high concentration of dust. The key features of this equipment are its self-keeping and cleaning capabilities: this filter features a rotational filtering belt that, over a certain interval of time set by the user, automatically cleans the whole surface of it, grating constantly the maximum performance of the ventilation system. As sad before, this filter does not require any interaction by technicians or cleaning procedures whatsoever; two internal jets of pressured water and air and a rubberized scraping surface perform the cleaning procedures with a small drying section afterwards.

The filter is modular (15.000 to 100.000 m3/h) and can be adapted and mounted to almost all of the currently existing ventilation system that may require it. All of its components are made of SS AISI 304, granting you a long-lasting life; we grant you a fully functional filter for two years with no cleaning/checking procedures to do. All of the waste produced its automatically sent to the wastewaters plant in a continuous way.

The filter has a small energetic need, as well as small water and air requirements that can be reduced and regulated anytime. Using the AV-900 will result in the best performance if the machine uses the WEBSTAB technology: our equipment drastically reduces paper breaks and the WEBSTAB boxes’ maintenance.

A high performance filtering systems that ensures the full working conditions of the PV and WEBSTAB systems, gives the certainty that the investments concerning the ventilation systems will effectively follow the ROI as planned, reducing the amount of investments needed.
